This not only gives users the ability to vent their rage or sing their praises but allows them to feel that their opinion in the form of a review matters in the grander scheme of things. Businesses can also use it as an analyses tool to assess what it is that they are doing that is and is not working.

3. Sharing

A problem shared is a problem halved and a particular moment shared becomes a more significant topic. The ability to share precious moments, pictures and videos of events is essential to the success of social media platforms. But sharing isn’t just about the personal information – it is the best way to recommend, refer and advocate. Sharing and re-sharing posts and other types of media lie at the heart of viral marketing campaigns. It takes the oldest form of marketing (word of mouth) and promotes it to an entirely new level.
